Trailhead Volunteer Agreement

Trailhead Church Volunteer Agreement

I. The success of the relationship between Trailhead Church and its volunteers is based on the principle of exchange.

A. Trailhead Church promises to provide:

1. Spiritual Covering

The leadership of Trailhead Church, both Pastors and Staff, take responsibility in praying for and pastoring the congregation and its members. Trailhead Church will provide teaching from the Word of God, a genuine worship experience that is Christ-centered, and a pure environment (by confronting issues of immorality and unrepentant sin)  (Proverbs 11:14)

2. Support System

Trailhead Church is committed to cultivating an atmosphere of devoted followers that can surround each other and support one another. This discipleship is expressed through means of multiple avenues such as benevolence, biblical counseling, prayer support, hospital visits, funeral support, and fellowship with likeminded Christians. (Ephesians 4:16)

3. Opportunities for Ministry

Trailhead Church is a place of experiential training and development where every believer is afforded the opportunity to grow and mature as a believer (Ephesians 4:11-13)

B. Volunteers promise to provide:

1. An attitude of trust and support toward Trailhead Church leadership.

2. Regular church attendance and participation in worship services. (Acts 2:42) (Hebrews 10:25)

3. Completion of volunteer assignments as scheduled (promptness and faithfulness are crucial to a successful volunteer ministry, as God has called us to serve in His kingdom with excellence and integrity).

II. Trailhead Church and its volunteers agree to manage conflict in a civil and Christ-like manner.

A. Volunteers are expected to:

1. Refrain from making critical remarks about Trailhead Church to other volunteers or attendees.

2. Give Trailhead Church the benefit of the doubt.

3. Hear both sides of an issue before making judgments.

4. Refrain from participating in gossip, strife, dissension, or division as these sins erode relationships and create distrust.

5. Contact a team leader or staff member if there is a problem.

B. Interactions with Trailhead Church staff will be conducted in a civil manner.

1. Belligerent outbursts will not be tolerated.

2. Staff will handle disciplinary matters and conflicts in a firm but civil manner.

C. Volunteers and/or families who are consistently disagreeable, degrading, or counterproductive will be asked to leave the situation, volunteer area, or church, depending upon the severity of the situation.

D. Trailhead Church expects volunteers to withdraw from volunteering in an agreeable manner in the event of an unresolved dispute or when, for any reason, a volunteer feels the need to take a break from serving.

III. Volunteers understand that their lifestyles reflect upon Trailhead Church and its congregation.

A. Biblical standards of behavior should be upheld during church events as well as in our personal and private lives, avoiding all appearances of evil. (Phillipians 1:27)

B. Volunteers will act in love toward all church members and those outside of the church. (Romans 14:19-20)

IV. Volunteers agree to seek growth for the church, themselves, and those around them.

A. Volunteers agree to seek growth for the church:

1. Pray for our church, ministry leaders, and our community.

2. Be fully committed to the vision of Trailhead Church and faithfully give financially toward that vision.

B. Volunteers agree to seek growth for themselves:

1. Discover and nurture your gifts and talents.

2. Use my God-given gifts to serve others (1 Peter 4:10)

3. Develop a servant’s heart

C. Volunteers agree to seek growth for those around them.

1. Inviting the unchurched to attend

2. Warmly welcome those who visit.
