Four Areas to Come into Agreement and Pursue Unity

1. Vision (home – church – ministry): What is God’s best? Sow good seed into fertile soil. Write it out.
2. Communication (physically – emotionally – spiritually): What do you need from your spouse?
3. Vulnerability (date nights – church – friends): How can you commune together at home and elsewhere? Choose to surprise and delight one another.
4. Parenting – (a Holy Spirit strategic plan) Discipline & consistency are key.

Action Steps

1. Choose to make peace.

  • Ask, “Will this help or will it hurt?”
  • Pray for one another. Take time and be intentional in how you pray.

2. Go all in – each person giving 100% of what God is asking. Change requires change.

3. Have a conversation of restoration.

  • Walk through this as a minister of reconciliation and honor.
  • Say, “I love you. I honor you. I apologize.”
  • God opens the door, and He heals in a far greater measure than we can hope for.

4. Choose to encourage and not discourage. This is key. Use words of affirmation, and make a choice to lift one another up.

5. Ask yourselves: Are you serving one another?

6. Receive mercy and give mercy. What you receive from the Lord…give.

7. Read 1 Corinthians 13 and meditate on it.

God is cheering on your marriage. You are not alone.
